Tyler and His Daddy
Tyler and his proud father. He is getting very profient at burping. We will call him Master Burper - the dad not the baby or BOB - Burp Our Baby
My Visits with Nurse Vivian
I have learned alot from my visits with the "baby" nurse. Tyler would fall asleep so easily while I was trying to nurse. So, Vivian gave me some great tips.
1. When a baby is newborn they use alot of enegy learning to nurse and get nourishment, therefore they will tire easily. If you instinctive caress their head or stroke their face, you are causing them to use more energy making them more tired. Instead, Vivian suggested to touch their arm instead. This worked very well and within the next couple of nursings he was almost an expert.
2. Last night, I found that he wanted to nurse all night long. Let me tell you, I was getting very tired. When I mentioned this the Vivian, she explained about their little digestive systems being immature and the milk would reflux up into is espoghus making him uncomfortable. He would think he was hungry so I would nurse him starting the process all over again. So, after feeding him I put him to bed with his head raised about 3inches.
Learning to Crochet
Since my mom was down here I thought it would be a good time to finally learn to crochet. SOOO, I am making 4" squares from plastic canvas yarn. It's a great way to pass the time and not as hard as I thought it would be. Besides, my dad sold out of them at the last craft show and said he needs more.
I just love the picture of this little old lady doing her needle work. The caption said she was crocheting a doll. Guess they didn't look close enough. Look like she's knitting to me.

"There are three reasons for breast-feeding: the milk is always at the right temperature; it comes in attractive containers; and the cat can't get it. "
